Aerospace and Aircraft Rivets
National Rivet is one of America's leading suppliers of aircraft rivets and fastening solutions for aerospace applications. Our heritage extends back to World War II, when the majority of solid aluminum aircraft rivets for the American war effort came through National Rivet's Waupun, Wisconsin facilities.
Nearly 70 years later, National Rivet continues to maintain its "top flight" aerospace rivet standards. Our qualifications include the critical AS9100C certification, an ISO 9001:2000-based quality management system augmented with industry-specific requirements. Aerospace organizations can be assured that National Rivet products and practices meet their exacting quality requirements
Our aircraft rivets also meet MIL Spec standards, and we stock DFARS*-compliant raw material for quick turn around and shorter lead times. Our aircraft rivet products today include:
- Solid aluminum rivets for airframe applications
- Aircraft brake lining rivets
- Solid stainless steel and Monel® rivets
- A huge inventory of rivet styles and materials commonly used for assembly of airframe components, including OEM and replacement/repair parts
* Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement
Custom Aircraft Rivets Made to Order
All aircraft rivets are made-to-order. As a vertically integrated manufacturer, National Rivet assumes complete responsibility for lot control and quality verification. From raw material to finished product, your aircraft rivet stays right in our Waupun facilities, including for such secondary operations as:
- Annealing and heat treating
- Stainless steel passivation
- Plating and chromating
- Machining/head marking
- Sheer testing and other QA/QC procedures
Every aircraft rivet receives in-process and mechanical inspection for dimensional tolerances, as well as a final inspection.
Rivet Materials and Styles
Standard aircraft rivet types include 100-degree countersunk, 78-degree countersunk, round head, universal head, flat head and brazier head, all with standard aircraft rivet identification markings. You can design your rivet using our Interactive Rivet Design & Quote Tool.
We can cold head rivets from aluminum (1100, 2024, 2017, 2117, 5056, 7050 grades), stainless steel (all headable 300 and 400 series grades), Monel® (grade 400) and have the capability for cold heading other metals on request.
If you have an aerospace fastening challenge or need to replace or improve an existing part, take advantage of our in-house, custom engineering capabilities.
